Do you still have a register entry under the old Data Protection Act 2002?
Published On:Monday, December 9, 2019
All 160 register entries remaining under the Data Protection Act 2002 will expire before 1 February 2020.
If your registration number is prefixed with an “N” and expires between 9 December 2019 - 1 February 2020:
- you will need to apply for a new entry in the register of controllers and processors on or before the expiration date of the current entry; and
- if you paid a fee previously, payment of the £70 fee is required.
Each of the 160 data controllers affected should have received a letter about the changes to registration. The letter contains details about:
- when the existing register entry expires,
- how to apply for an entry in the new register, and
- how to pay the fee.
Please contact us if you have not received a letter but your registration number is prefixed with an "N" and expires before 1 February 2020.
