Isle of Man Government has confirmed that the WannaCry ransomware did not affect its computer systems or the Island's healthcare systems but is continuing to monitor the situation.  It has issued the following guidance to members of the public:

Always:

Exercise caution when opening attachments or clicking on links in emails

Back up important data on an external source not connected to the internet

Keep your operating system, applications and in particular your anti-virus software up to date

Any updates on the situation will be published by Isle of Man Government in the news section of its website.

Guidance is available on the Commissioner's website regarding compliance with the security principle, including an "IT security - top tips" document.

The UK Information Commissioner's Office has published a blog today, "Being held to ransom?", which includes hyperlinks to several resources for businesses and individuals.
